Bad data journalism

Recently I’ve become quite frustrated at the mixed quality of the new data journalism sites that have sprung up. Some of the content is very good: it’s insightful, and illuminates hidden corners of the world in a new way. But some of it is just dire. This Prezi is my response: A Guide to Bad Data Journalism. I pick on FiveThirtyEight a lot, but my criticism is not exclusively directed there—it seems like a general problem.
